Who I am
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been passionate about learning languages. It has been one of the constants—if not the main one—throughout my life. English was the first language I learned. As I gradually improved and was finally able to interact with people from different countries, a whole new world opened up before my very eyes. I was changing. I realized how speaking a different language can shape your perception of reality in unique ways. It fueled my boundless curiosity. Other languages soon followed: French, German, Portuguese, and Japanese. Through studying these languages, I discovered not only more about the world but also about myself. My life became so much richer.
In 2022, I began teaching my native language. At the time, I was living abroad, and somehow, the connection I felt to Italy—its language and culture—grew stronger. It wasn’t a sense of longing that made me feel this way, but rather a genuine attraction and appreciation for a country I could now see more clearly from afar. As I started helping students from all over the world advance on their path to learning Italian, that appreciation deepened. Italian truly is a beautiful language, and there are dozens of reasons why anyone should want to learn it.
Teaching has been a huge source of fulfillment for me. Being able to connect with people from all corners of the world, listening to their stories, and watching them struggle, overcome obstacles, and eventually improve (or refine their fluency) has been deeply inspirational. Learning a language is tough. It requires dedication, effort, and consistency. There will be many times when you’ll want to give up. But if you can push through those moments of discouragement, you’ll eventually grow stronger and more resilient.
Waiting for you on the other side of the river is a great sense of accomplishment, along with a new perspective—new lenses through which to gaze at the world.
